Gmail: Game Changing Tip + Exclusive Workshop

(you can easily filter previous issues by application!)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…

But did you know a meme is worth the screams of a million working professionals?

The pain of receiving a forwarded email thread

I think we can all agree that colleagues who forward a long email thread with an irresponsible “FYI lol” at the beginning belong in jail.

I have obviously never done that.

Forwarding long email threads can be extremely messy for 3 reasons:

  1. Indent Madness: The replies keep getting pushed further right, making it tough to see what's what.
  2. Reverse Order Replies: You see the newest stuff first, so it's like reading a story backwards.
  3. In-Line Reply Chaos: If someone replied inside the original email, it's like a puzzle you don't want to solve.

Properly Forwarding an Email

For those of us who have forwarded email like this though (first of all shame on you 👀), there’s a much better way:

  • Click the 3 dots at the top of the email > Forward all.

You’ll now have a chronologically correct email thread without any weird and awkward formatting!

So the next time someone irresponsibly forwards you an email, please send them this tip 😉.

💡
Shoutout to my colleague (and fellow productivity nerd) Jun for sharing this amazing tip with me!
