You might have heard that the paid version of Google Gemini can now analyze Google Docs and Sheets, yet 90% of people are using it incorrectly.
The basics
Gemini Advanced users can now include a Google Doc or Google Sheet file as part of their prompt by either searching for the name of the document or pasting the URL directly:
The most common (and basic) use case is to ask Gemini to summarize the file or share key takeaways.
Although that's a valid use case, using documents to "ground" Gemini's outputs can enhance productivity.
